1864 Abortion Ban Takes Effect in Arizona! The Most Pro-Life State Has Become Even More Pro-Life

RACHEL DeLONGE: Kevin Tracy wanted to be here, but he had standing plans today for dance lessons and a return to the annual Valpo Brew Fest. Still, Kevin Tracy and all of us here at KTracy.com received news Friday night that Pima County, Arizona Judge Kellie Johnson sided with the state and said a 1864 abortion ban; which was blocked by Roe v. Wade in 1973 should take effect once again. The entire team here at KTracy.com is ecstatic at this incredible news that will save countless lives! Stories like this (similar this pro-life decision and this pro-life legislation in Indiana) are why we were so thrilled when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade earlier this year.

The Arizona abortion ban is pretty impressive in that it protects the lives of children conceived even through the horrific crimes of incest and rape. Of course, KTracy.com has long held that this should be the goal of the pro-life community. Children should never be sentenced to die because of the crimes of their father, that includes children in the womb. As tragic as it might be for the mother, a human life is too sacred and valuable to be terminated even when it serves as a reminder of a terrible trauma. Thankfully, Arizona still has an exception to protect the life of the mother; which is absolutely necessary and would have needed to be added immediately by an emergency session of the Arizona legislature if it wasn't already there.

The media has tried to play this off as a terrible, outdated law from before Arizona was even a state. However, the law stood for over 100 years along side other territorial laws that banned other immoral practices, such as murder.

I'll take a couple of questions.

QUESTION: How concerned is Kevin Tracy and the KTracy.com team about the effect this will have in the 2022 midterm elections undermining Republican chances of taking the Congress?

RACHEL DeLONGE: Obviously, it would have been nice if this decision fell in 2021, but we're not too concerned. Defending the lives of unborn children is more important than controlling either house in Congress. Overturning Roe and banning abortion in conservative-led states was always going to have a some political effect that would rally Democrats. It needed to happen eventually, and it did. The sooner it happened, the more lives that could be saved. Anyway, we're not really concerned. We're actually very much encouraged. Even after the setback in Kansas, Republican leaders are still moving forward to defend life. To be honest, I think Kevin and I were more concerned about these Republican leaders being cowards and ignoring the pro-life issue after Kansas similar to how Democrats have completely ignored fixing our broken immigration system whenever they've controlled the White House and both houses of Congress. That hasn't happened.

QUESTION: Kevin Tracy has previously stated that the believes the culture needs to be moved to be more pro-life before bans this strict take effect. Does he still feel that way?

RACHEL DeLONGE: A ban like the Arizona abortion ban being implemented as an amendment to the US Constitution is the goal of Kevin Tracy. Right now, Kevin is of the belief that laws like this can't pass at the state level in most cases without exceptions for rape and incest. However, we need to move forward to the goal when and where we can. In Arizona, the law already existed, so that worked out perfectly. In other places, the culture of life isn't as dedicated as Arizona was in 1864.

Thanks for coming and a huge thank you to the State of Arizona for not making the same mistakes as Donald Trump and judge shopping like Planned Parenthood has for years.

Have a blessed day, y'all!
