TRANSCRIPT: Kevin Tracy's News Conference After Attending the 2022 Porter County Fair

RACHEL DELONGE: We want to thank the 4H club for providing us with an opportunity to address the media at the Porter County Fairgrounds. Kevin Tracy arrived at the fair at approximately 7:10 pm this evening. For security reasons, we will not discuss parking arrangements. Kevin will talk about his experience at the fair and answer a few questions. He's on his way to the podium now.

KEVIN TRACY: Thank you, Rachel. And thank you to the Gearhart family for sponsoring this podium and stage from the 4H.

This is my first time back to the Porter County Fair since the pandemic, I think 2019 was the last year I was here. I used to be here every year volunteering at the Porter County Republicans table or the Porter County Right To Life's table, and this year's County Fair seems like the biggest and best fair they've ever had.

It seems like they've got more food vendors than ever and fewer repeat vendors, or vendors selling the same thing or offering only a slight variation of the same game. My fiancee and our friends really enjoyed ourselves. You can definately tell a lot of hard work went into everything at the fair.

I also have to point out how impressed we all were with the animals the kids in 4H had raised. Without exception, the animals were clean, healthy, and clearly well looked-after. The goats in particular were quite entertaining tonight.

It's been a while since I've answered questions from reporters, so I'll take a few since you're all here.

REPORTER: Where did you park?

RACHEL DELONGE: I said we weren't going-

KEVIN TRACY: Lot 3 over by the concert. We actually were on the north side of the lot, but they made us walk to the south entrance. That's why Katie and I got our hands stamped a little late.

REPORTER: Did you pay full admission price to get in?

KEVIN TRACY: I hope so! We paid $20 for both of us to get through the gate, $10 a person. I'm not looking for discounts. The money goes to a great cause.

REPORTER: What do you think about Speaker Pelosi's plans to travel to Taiwan?

KEVIN TRACY: For the first time in 20 years, I think I agree with Nancy Pelosi. But I'll address this and other current events later in the week when I'm back at KTracy.com Headquarters. Next question.

REPORTER: Did you win any prizes for Katie?

KEVIN TRACY: No, but not for lack of trying. We tried the ring toss game together and then I took a few shots at the basketball game with the non-regulation rims.

REPORTER: Do you have any tips if you were to try again?

KEVIN TRACY: It's been a while since I played basketball, but I think the balls may be weighted. I noticed that if I dribbled the ball, it would bounce in kind of unexpected ways. If I dribbled with some spin on the ball, I managed to get the bounce under control pretty quickly. If I did this, the ball seemed to go a little straighter. So yeah, it's just a theory, but I think the balls are weighted. The non-regulation rims look to be tilted down a bit, but I think that's a gimmick designed to make you focus less on the balls themselves. The real trick is dribbling the ball until you get it bouncing center in front of you. Then taking your shot. Again, just my theory. But I had a lot of balls drift to either side unexpectedly and I'm usually a pretty good shot.

REPORTER: Did you try any fair food?

KEVIN TRACY: Did we ever! I think I had two Gator-on-Sticks, a couple of deep fried Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, some Puerto Rican Rice, and a slice of pizza. Katie was actually the one who ordered the Puerto Rican rice and she also got a big ol' Dill Pickle. Unlike me, she's wildly more mindful of what she puts in her body. Our friends also got a funnel cake with ice cream and I think some hot dogs or polish sausages or something. They tried the Gator on a stick, too.

You know, I noticed that Cajun vendor had Crawfish cooking. I'll tell you what. I would love to try eating Crawfish, but it seems like so much work to crack them open for so little meat. I kind of feel that way about crab legs, too. Even when I was working down in Louisiana, I never tried Crawfish. One of these days, I'm going to have to find a fan or someone to show me how to eat Crawfish the easy way, because I really want to experience it.

REPORTER: Will there be a new gallery added to the Kevin Tracy Museum of Art and Photography for this outting to the Porter County Fair?

KEVIN TRACY: I'll have to check with Katie to see how many pictures she got. To be honest, I was so focused on having a good time that I didn't think to take any pictures on my phone. I know Katie put at least a couple on Snapchat. If we can get those, I'll have them added to the transcript of this press conference on KTracy.com

REPORTER: Will you be back to the County Fair this year?

KEVIN TRACY: Probably not. I have an art commission I've been working on completing on my Twitch livestreams. Plus my parents just got new phones that I need to fix and I have an Eastern Medicine exam thing scheduled later in the week. So I don't think I'm going to have time to get back here. Plus, I somehow escaped being asked to be the celebrity guest at the Porter County Republican Party table this year.

RACHEL DELONGE: Thank you, everyone for your questions. Mr. Tracy must get to his hopefully un-vandalized car to drop his fiancee off at her home. A transcript of this press conference will be made available at KTracy.com by Wednesday, July 27th, 2022. Again, we wish to thank the 4H club and the Gearhart family for making this press conference possible. Have a great night, everyone!
