KTracy.com Endorses Conan O'Brien for Tonight Show Host

Well, I had promised Semp and Travis that all website endorsements would go through them, but this is a special exception as there's no time for debate. Jay Leno wanted a Primetime slot and failed miserably, so he wants his old time slot back. Conan O'Brien took a stand and said "No!" in order to defend the integrity and tradition of the Tonight Show, which he took over when Leno left.

Jay Leno, who screwed over David Letterman for job years ago, is now on the verge of screwing over Conan to get the time slot he abandoned back. Joking aside, O'Brien's stated top concern here is (and has always been) the reputation of the Tonight Show. Jay Leno and the executives at NBC clearly have other concerns (ratings and comedy obviously not among them).

Since this whole thing started, Conan has lashed out pretty hard against the executives at NBC, which is a pretty darn brave thing to do when your dream job is on the line. But let me say this, if he does end up being fired, he's going to forever be remembered for the way he's going out with style. NBC is making the biggest mistake in network history (even bigger than hiring the retarded talent agent responsible for the collapse of SNL) if they get rid of Conan. The Tonight Show is one of the only shows of quality they have left and they're willing to destroy it in order to fulfill the egotistical whims of a boring stand-up comedian who couldn't even manage a stand-up career after leaving the Tonight Show or a Primetime network television program.

Why not just put Jay Leno on MSNBC in Keith Olberman's time slot? Olberman's show is already a joke, so why not let a comedian host it? As bad as Leno's ratings have been, they're better than Olberman's.

Conan, I sincerely wish you the best of luck with whatever happens. But if the worst shall happen, honor Carson, the Tonight Show, and your millions of fans by showing us your comedic wrath and give NBC no quarter and no mercy. Hit them so hard that they'll regret not only screwing over you and the Tonight Show, but ever even creating the show in the first place.
