Class Representative Kevin Tracy

REP. KEVIN TRACY: Hi, there! Great news! I was appointed to be the Secretary of the BPA. I'm excited too.

I came in second place when running for Vice President, Josh and other political allies didn't make it.  But I managed to pull in a whole bunch of votes.  And when the clear winner of the Secretary refused her position, I was offered the job because no strong candidates emerged after the ballots were counted.

To my friends who ran for other positions, Josh, Jake, and Brian, we're still buds, I'm rather surpassed I got something I wasn't running for. But, it's still a victory for not just the four of us, but for our entire chapter of the BPA.

What do I plan on doing being an official in the BPA? Well, as some of you may and may not know, The BPA is responsible for hosting the Valentine's Day Dance.  Now, for the past 3 years, we have been using the same color theme and basic design with the decorations.  Why? Well, decorations cost money, well, so does going to Nationals.  The idea this year is to buy new decorations, after all, it's something new for the Seniors who have had blue and silver for all of our High School Careers, BUT still be able to send those in our chapter who win at the state level to Nationals.  That was my, and my friends goal when we were up for office.  My views haven't changed much.

Q: When will the dance be?

REP. SEC. KEVIN TRACY: That will be discussed later in the year when we learn more about our dates and the dates of other programs in February.

Q: What has priority, BPA or Council?

REP. SEC. KEVIN TRACY: Neither, I will be in two places at once if I have to be. But I doubt the two will interfere too much unless I'm down at Indy and Chicago for State and Nationals.

Q: What events are you doing in the BPA?

REP. SEC. KEVIN TRACY: I'm teaming up with Josh Michaels, Jake Faurm, and Brian Moholland again to do the Web site team.  I will also be doing extemporaneous speeches. That one isn't a team effort.

Q: Are all offices filled?

REP. SEC. KEVIN TRACY: Not exactly. There is still a chance that the Vice President Elect will refuse his position, in which case, I will take the Vice Presidential position and the BPA will have a run-off for Secretary.  There is also a chance that the treasurer won't accept the duty or pay his dues.  Both of which can kick a person off.

Now, if you don't mind, I will be meeting Maddie in Wisconsin tomorrow afternoon and I'd like to get packing tonight. I should make my staff do that. But oh well. Goodnight.
